This is the end of the old ski jump, Holmenkollen. They are planning to build a new ski jump and yesterday they started removing this famous landmark. It's sad, but nothing we can do about it. Here's a link to a video presentation of how they are going to tear it down.
We've showed you several photos from Holmenkollen and the area before on this blog. Please visit again. And in a couple of years we'll be able to show you photos of the new ski jump. It's supposed to be ready in 2010.

Ja det var en historisk dag i går, jeg var der opp selv i går og fikk tatt noen bilder men hadde ikke tid til å vente til de startet rivingen.
Oh my goodness, I thought the Holmenkollen ski jump was going to be there for a very long time. We visited it 4 years ago next week, and enjoyed both the views and the ski museum. The tram ride up there on a beautiful crisp autumn day was pretty good too.
John: Fint du fikk tatt bilder før de begynte rivingen. Jeg har vært der selv og tatt mange bilder det siste året, men det er vemodig det her.
Linda: They are going to build a new Holmenkollen in the same spot, so in a couple of years you'll be able to visit it again. I'm still a bit sentimental, since Holmenkollen has been there all my life, up until now.
