In memory of...

After the Rose Ceremony at Oslo City Hall last Monday, people went out in the streets to cover downtown Oslo with flowers. These are some photos taken the next day:

The lion statue outside the Parliament building.

Demonstration at the Parliament

These are more photos from the demonstration I told you about yesterday. The building is the parliament in the center of Oslo. Some politicians were there, listening to the demands of the deaf demonstrators. No promises were made, though.

By the way... it snowed today for the first time this winter. Not much and luckily it didn't stay on the ground. I hope it will wait a bit longer, because I don't have winter tires on my car yet. :-)

Norwegian Parliament

This is taken from the top of Grand hotel. The first one is the main building and other buildings connected to the main one. The second is with some of the park, which you saw here. Just now it's summervacation there, so nothing is happening there right now. But it's guide that show the parliament from the inside during the summer.

Eidsvolls plass

This is a park in the front of the Norwegian Parliament in Oslo, which you see in the background of the picture. It's a beautiful park between the Karl Johans gate and Stortingsgata. In the summer people use this for resting and enjoying watching the life at the streets.

In 1956 it were build by the Christiania Spigerverk (which make nail/spikes) and it got called Spikersuppa (The Spike soup) by the people. Arne Durban made the statues of the children.

The flags you see at the left side is from the hotel Grand, which is one of the most dashing hotels of Oslo. The winners of Nobel peace Price use to stand at the balcony of Grand.
