Very interesting. I had no idea. One would imagine the scream was inspired by a traumatic scene not such a beautiful scene.
Being stolen may not have helped. It does look like quite tranquil place for one of world's most famous anxiety image. Excellent choice.
Well, that at least explains why the screamer in the painting is on a bridge. I suppose from this high vantage, perambulators such as our Edvard would have see Krakatoa's roseate clouds spread far & wide.
So what’s he screaming about? Maybe he dropped his ice cream over the edge or something! :)
