Blooming

I love this time of year! We have lovely weather, it's as warm as it usually is in the summer and in just a few days, nature has become green. I love these trees that are blooming now. I think they're called "Hegg" (Hagberry?).

White beauty

This photo was taken the day before Christmas. I love the frost on the trees, it makes everything look like a Christmas card. (The frost and snow have melted away now.)

Dramatic sunset

Okay, I'll admit it. I don't have much inspiration these days, at least not regarding photo. I'm sure it'll come back (especially after I'm done redecorating the bedroom), but meanwhile I'll submit pictures from a time where I did have more inspiration. :-)

This is taken in Oslo a couple of years ago, in December, probably around Christmas Eve. And it's taken right outside the house I grew up in.

Against the blue sky

I'm sorry I haven't submitted any photos for the past few days, as I'm ill.

This is a photo from another sunny day, although we do have foggy weather today.

I wish you all a happy weekend. :-)

White berries

I have no idea what these are called, but they grow in many gardens on some kind of bush (or hedge). They are not something you can eat, but they're quite decorative.

Autumn sun

The autumn this year is really lovely, and this photo was taken the morning after the first night of frost. It was a crisp morning, but still very beautiful with the low sun and the coloured trees.

Evening field and a tag

Nothing will grow here until next spring...

**

These are the rules:

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.

2. List eight random facts about yourself.

3. Tag eight people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).

4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving them a comment on their blogs.

8 random facts about me:

1. I'm fascinated by people and people's nature.
2. I used to play the Great Highland Bagpipe, a very typical Norwegian instrument. Or not. :-)
3. I didn't drink coffee until I was 30, so I guess I didn't grow up until then. Actually, I didn't like beer until then either.
4. I love reading and have kept a record of almost every book I've read since 1984.
5. My great passions are music, photo and litterature.
6. Even though I have a chronic illness, I feel my life is much better now than it was 10 years ago.
7. I never cease to believe in true love.
8. I dream of travelling around Scotland with a brand new camera.

I am tagging these eight Daily Photo blogs:

In the evening light

This photo was taken a few weeks back - along with several others, but I'd forgotten all about them. I've chosen a few I'd like to share with you.

This is from Bogstad, in the Sørkedalen valley. It's country side, but still inside the borders of Oslo.

Moon over heather

Heather is a typical plant for autumn. You will find it planted on graves, in flower boxes - and of course growing wild some places in the country side.

This photo is also from my balcony. The heather is in my flower box and the full moon is shining above it. Quite a lovely sight.

Full moon over Oslo

This is a photo from my balcony last night. A lovely mood with the full moon.

Rowanberries

A typical sign of autumn in Oslo: The Rowan tree with its beautiful, red berries. This photo is not from this year, as the rowanberries aren't showing yet - at least not like this.

Some say that if there are many rowanberries in the autumn, the winter will bring a lot of snow. Others say the opposite. I don't know what is correct, but I'm always hoping there won't be much snow.

Nordmarka

This shot is from a hike last summer. It's a view from the part of Oslomarka that is called Nordmarka (which would be "the field of north" in english).

"Oslo is beautifully situated at the head of Oslo Fjord surrounded by forested ridges (Oslomarka), and this very location gives Oslo unexpected qualities for a national capital.

Arable fields, vast forests and untouched nature areas surrounding the city are only twenty minutes from the centre. They provide recreational opportunities that are frequently taken advantage of by the city’s inhabitants, as well as increasingly by visitors, in summer and winter alike. Do you know of any other capital where you can go skiing and kayaking, make excursions to a nearby island or go skating – all within the city limits?

Oslo has a population of five hundred thousand, which is relatively low compared to most European capitals. However, it is paradoxically one of the largest in terms of area. Oslo covers more than 450 square kilometres, most of which comprises forests and arable land."

A small house in the woods

This is Oslo too... From Sørkedalen, a valley Northwest in Oslo. This is a lovely area where you find the Bogstad Estate and lots of nice places to go hiking or skiing.
